We collect information necessary to provide our services and ensure account security:

• Account Information: Name, email address, phone number, and account credentials
• Technical Information: IP addresses, device information, login timestamps
• Service Usage: How you interact with our systems and applications
• Communication Records: Support requests and system-generated notifications
• Website Analytics: A first-party, cookieless analytics beacon (collect.js) that records visit information without setting advertising cookies and without fingerprinting your device. Anonymous visits are not linked to you, nor to each other across days; if you give us your email address it is linked to that visit — see Section 6

5. Information Sharing

We do not sell your personal information for money. We do not trade or share your personal information except:

• Service Providers: Third-party services that help us operate (like Twilio for SMS delivery)
• Advertising & Measurement: A limited, cookieless conversion signal shared with Meta Platforms, Inc. (Facebook) to measure and improve our advertising, as described in the “Analytics and Advertising” section below — you can opt out
• Legal Requirements: When required by law or to protect our legal rights
• Business Transfer: In connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets

6. Analytics and Advertising

Site analytics. Our websites use a first-party, cookieless analytics beacon (collect.js) to understand how people reach and use our sites. It sets no advertising cookies, writes nothing to your browser, and does not fingerprint your device. While you browse anonymously we do not identify you, and we do not link your visits from one day to the next: visits are grouped by a key recomputed each day from your IP address and browser, which cannot be reversed.

If you give us your email address — to download a trial, or to sign in to the customer portal — we link that address to the visit you are making at the time, including pages you viewed earlier in that visit. From then on, pages you view on any occasion you identify yourself are kept associated with your address, and our staff can look them up. We use this to understand how people reach us and where our own site is confusing, and to answer questions about your account. We stop keeping that link after 24 months: the visit records remain as anonymous statistics, but your address is removed from them.

We do not sell this information, do not share it with advertisers, and do not buy information about you from anyone else. If your browser sends the Global Privacy Control signal we honour it. You can ask us what we hold against your address, and ask us to delete it, at privacy@iownsoftware.com.

Advertising measurement. When you download a trial or complete a purchase on our websites, we share a limited, cookieless conversion signal with Meta Platforms, Inc. (Facebook) through its Conversions API to measure and improve our advertising. It is sent from our servers — no advertising cookie or pixel is placed in your browser — and consists of a one-way hashed (SHA-256) version of your email address, your IP address and browser user-agent, the purchase amount where applicable, and, if you arrived from a Meta ad, the ad click identifier from the page web address.

We also note advertising click identifiers from Google and Microsoft ads when you arrive from one, but we use these only for our own measurement and do not transmit them to Google, Microsoft, or any other party.

Global Privacy Control (GPC). You can opt out of this advertising sharing at any time: we honor the Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal, so a browser set to send GPC is automatically excluded, and you can also opt out on your browser from our Your Privacy Choices page or by contacting us at support@iownsoftware.com.

7. Data Security

We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your information, including:

• Encrypted data transmission and storage
• Access controls and authentication requirements
• Regular security assessments and updates
• Monitoring for unauthorized access attempts

8. Data Retention

We retain your information as long as your account is active or as needed to provide services. We may retain certain information for legal compliance, fraud prevention, or legitimate business purposes even after account closure.

9. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have rights regarding your personal information, including:

• Access to your personal information
• Correction of inaccurate information
• Deletion of your information (subject to legal requirements)
• Objection to certain processing activities
• Opting out of the sharing of your information for advertising — we honor the Global Privacy Control (GPC) browser signal, and you can also opt out by contacting us (see “Analytics and Advertising”)

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy periodically. We will notify you of significant changes by posting the updated policy on our website with a new "Last Updated" date.
